Supportive Housing Voucher Program
The Supportive Housing Program is a collaboration between the Mental Health Association of San Mateo County and the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo. The Housing Authority provides rental subsidies for apartments throughout the community; MHA provides support services. The program offers adults with mental illness the support and assistance necessary to participate in community activities at the highest level of independence possible.

Services
Case Manager and Occupational Therapist Provide:
- Assistance in securing and maintaining an apartment that meets the Housing Authority guidelines.
- Support, education and training in managing symptoms and developing skills for independent living.
The Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo Provides:
- Subsidy to help pay for housing.
Eligibility
Participants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Be considered homeless (as defined by HUD).
- Be considered disabled (as defined by HUD).
- Have a serious mental illness.
- Reside in San Mateo County.
- Have the ability to be a good tenant.
- Have some form of income.
- Be receptive to ongoing case management services.
