YAIL (Young Adult Independent Living)
YAIL is a collaboration between the Mental Health Association of San Mateo County and Caminar. MHA owns and maintains the facility; program services are offered by Caminar. The site includes three apartments, each with two bedrooms. The program provides young adults with mental illness the support and assistance necessary to participate in community activities at the highest level of independence possible.

Location: Redwood City
Housing Type: Temporary

Services
  • Temporary, affordable housing.
  • Support services to help residents learn to manage symptoms and develop skills for independent living.

Eligibility
YAIL participants must be:

  • San Mateo County residents.
  • 18-22 years old.
  • Diagnosed with a mental illness.
